The Southern Natchez Trace
bicycle tour incorporates the true highlights
of southern Mississippi, from its grand
Antebellum history to its painful past during
the Civil War. We start in Kosciusko,
Mississippi and cycle along the historic Natchez Trace with stops in
Ridgeland, and Vicksburg in route to Natchez. Our journey will see us staying
in magnificent Antebellum mansions, dining on
classic southern cuisine, visiting historically significant sites and of course cycling some the
South's most beautiful stretches of road.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 - Kosciusko, MS
We will meet in Jackson, MS before shuttling
to our 1st nights host at the Maple Terrace. After settling into your room we get together in the early afternoon
to go over the
trip itinerary. Tonight our gracious host will
prepare dinner for us in her beautiful home.

Day 2 - Jackson, MS
After a delicious full southern breakfast we will cycle along the
Natchez Trace to Ridgeland, MS. The highlight of today's route will be the
approximately 20 miles of shoreline we cycle
along the Ross Barnett Reservoir.

Day 3 - Vicksburg, MS
After breakfast we continue
our journey down the Trace before shuttling
into Vicksburg and the Anchuca Mansion B&B.
After a quick change we will head over to
the Vicksburg National Military Park and
take a private tour of the hallowed grounds.

Mileage: 30 - 50+ miles
Day 4 - Natchez, MS
After our shuttle back to the
Trace we will remount our bikes and continue
towards its southern terminus. There are
several options for additional touring along
the way, including Port Gibson and the
historic site of the Windsor Ruins. The next
two nights will be spent in the heart of
Natchez at the World Renowned Monmouth
Plantation.

Day 5 - Explore Natchez,
MS
Today is an
optional day for cycling with opportunities to
take guided tours of many of the Antebellum
Mansions in the city of Natchez. This city and
its many plantations is one of the finniest
and most well preserved examples of a southern
era long since gone.

Mileage: optional day of riding
Day 6 - Shuttle Back to
Jackson, MS
After a
relaxing breakfast we will say goodbye to our
hosts and shuttle back to the origination
point. The shuttle will take approximately two
hours which will give you plenty of time to
reflect on the experiences of the past few
days.
